Now that I have a studio in Minnesota, I have the ability to welcome felines to the party.

Taking portraits of cats is…, well, a lot like herding cats.

As a dog photographer, I learned how to read animal behavior and it translates well to cat photography. Tail up means happy. Hissing means not so happy. I’m a quick study.

I have all the things to make a cat happy. Catnip spray, treats, cat toys.

I’ve even got a cat configuration for the studio to keep them contained to one room. We let them explore so they are comfortable.

It’s a lot of fun. Here are some of my favorites.
