What every dog mom knows

Dogs are furry puddles of unconditional loving goo.

Within your circle of trusted beings, dogs are the only ones who are always in the present moment. They have an uncanny ability to give you exactly what you need.

Though you try to push it away, that nagging voice in your head reminds you that your time with your dog is tragically short. Maybe you’ve tried preserving the special moments using your smartphone, only to discover it’s not as easy as it seems. What if you could freeze time and preserve your dog’s quirky lovable self?

I’ve got you, fur parent.

I help dog loving Minneapolis St Paul parents celebrate their pets by creating timeless customized art.

Hi. I’m Lisa.

I’m a proud Crazy Dog Mom and a pet and people photographer. I founded Pawsh Photography because I want every parent to have beautiful images of their beloved fur babies - dogs and kids alike. If you want to meet me and my dog Snickers, here’s a vid.

I am passionate about ensuring all beings are comfortable in our studio. Having not always felt welcome, much less accepted or celebrated simply for being my awkward, introverted, anxiety ridden, lesbian self, I know the sting.

All beings are affirmatively welcome here. If humans were as accepting as dogs the world would be a better place. Dogs love hard and unconditionally, and don’t judge. Neither do we.

I love working with other animal loving people. Most of all I love proving that any dog can be wildly successful with pet photography. It just takes patience and positivity. Untrained or reactive dogs and imperfect humans are my perfect clients.

My clients call me the dog whisperer!

Together we will create the ultimate photography experience. I can’t wait to welcome you!

Meet the Pack

Lisa Peterson

Founder & Photographer. Snickers’ Mom.

When I am not taking photos, you will find me puttering in the kitchen, lifting heavy shiz at the gym, enjoying craft beer and pizza at Surly, or visiting the beautiful North Shore.

My soul is happiest when I get to be with my beautiful wife. She is my soulmate, and an exquisite gift from the Universe.

I am a proud fur parent to Duchess - a cat by marriage, and Snickers, a chihuahua whippet rescue from Puerto Rico. Sadly, Snickers passed away in October 2024. I am forever changed for the better thanks to her devoted companionship. One of my favorite memories of my times with her: Snickers and I shared a penchant for Culver’s frozen custard, and we reached an understanding - neither of us shared. I’m a Wisconsin farm girl after all. (Go Packers!)

I’d love to hear about your dog, and I’ll be honored to work with you, so please contact me today.

PS - I use she/her pronouns. What are yours?

In loving memory of Snickers

Chief Pawsitivity Officer. Adorable Sugarface.

A native of Puerto Rico, Snickers enjoyed napping under her mom’s desk, giving amazing if slightly sloppy kisses, and not sharing her Culver’s frozen custard.

She made even the most frustrating day fun and exciting.

She loved her long walks in the park and treats in her doggy puzzle board.

After an unexpected and sudden illness, Snickers sadly passed away in October 2024. I miss her every day.

She will always be my pawsitivity officer.

Duchess

Queen of Everything. Gravity Checker.

Duchess the Cat spends her days napping in the sun and walking across computer keyboards. She enjoys nightly cat treats whilst her human subjects drink tea and her fur sibling chases her treat ball.

Her favorite activity is playing with her cat nip laced cat toys and verifying gravity is still a “thing” by knocking off everything from the kitchen counter.

Enough about me! I want to hear about you and your quirky, anxious, or slobbery fur baby. It’s what I love most, after all.
