The Magic of Cat Portraits

In the world of professional pet photography, dogs get all the attention. And for good reason - due to their desire to please they are relatively easy to photograph.

Though cats can be trained, most cats I photograph are not. And that’s OK. I plan on it.

If you are a cat lover, you likely appreciate your cat’s playful instincts and her curious independent nature. These are the traits we photograph at your cat photography session.

In my cat friendly studio in Hopkins you will find an assortment of cat toys and treats, along with cozy cat caves. Usually cats make a beeline to hide under the studio furniture. I build in waiting time into your appointment, so that your cat has time to acclimate to my studio. This can take time, sometimes up to 20 minutes. It takes as long as it takes.

Animals first, remember?

Sometimes I entice your cat out of hiding with a trail of treats or a fun toy. During your consultation we will decide what might work best for your cat. If they are old enough and enjoy it, I spray catnip in the area where we can to photograph.

It also helps to have you near your cat, petting them and playing with them. It helps them relax and feel confident.

Cats are so fun to photograph. They are full of fun energy, playful curiosity and beautiful personalities .

If you and other human family members want to join the photo session, you are welcome. I love photographing pets and their humans!

Your cat can do this!
